If the disciples of Jesus felt that Jesus was God- why would Peter and Christ disciples react this way?

the diciples were an interesting group of men. they were basically a bunch of rough and tough men. Fishermen by trade to be exact. When Christ died they didn't know what to do. They had faith in God but didn't have any instruction on what to do after. Jesus had performed miracles while they fished before, so maybe it was natural that they were drawn to do this. Maybe they were hoping for a sign. Or maybe they just needed to get back to everyday life qwhile they waited for the ressurection. Men gotta eat!
