Why do so many people SEEM to prefer living in new york as opposses to california when pursuing acting?

New York is cooler. I've been to LA and I loved it, but I think a lot of people enjoy New York more. I did. I guess maybe it's because many people move to LA to become famous, while others who move to NYC just want a job on the stage, and decent pay. I'm not sure. I always thought they were about equal.
